Have you ever wondered why sharks attack humans. Or what sharks you should be weary of?
Shark attacks are rare, but they do happen, in 2015 there were ninety-eight shark attacks!
The chances of you getting attacked by a shark are 1 in 3.7 million. So, why do sharks attack? Only about twelve shark species out of the three hundred have been involved in a shark attack.
Sharks attack humans when they are confused or curious. If a human is splashing in the water the shark might get curious and that might start an attack if the shark gets startled. To make a shark attack less likely you can stay in a group and stay close to shore. Sharks will not attack a group of humans because it is harder for the shark and staying close to shore means sharks will not be able to reach you.
For example, a 19-year-old boy jumped into shark infested water and is now missing. He is thought to have been eaten by a shark.
Hopefully there won’t be any more casualties from sharks but that is unlikely So Stay safe. Hopefully you have learned something from this article and will stay in a group close to shore.
