Being Carbon Neutral
Carbon Neural is when a place helps the environment and does not produce that much Carbon Dioxide. Blaine is not one of these schools. In fact, in 20 years Blaine will get shut down because of this and there’s nothing we can do this time… is there?
We interviewed 6th grader Rose about this topic, and this is what she said.
1.Q What do you know about being Carbon Neutral? Her answer was. “Oxygen.”
2.Q what can Blaine do to become Carbon Neutral? Her answer was. “We can plant more trees and be aware and tell people and protest.”
3.Q What can we do about it? Her answer was. “We could start a website. My sister has a good socializing thing on Instagram, we could upload something to aware people about it.”
Rose made a good point more people need to be aware about this we also need to try to get Blaine to be more carbon neutral but what are the little things we can do?
Next, we interviewed Mr. Gray about this topic, and this is what he said.
1.Q what does our school do to help the environment? A. His answer was “Our heat is only on when people are here, and we sort waste in the cafeteria, and we have solar panels. Also 80% of students walk or bike to school.”
2.Q has there ever been an environmental club at Blaine? A. His answer was “Yes before covid there was an environmental club.”
3.Q can we start a Green Awards program? A. His answer was “Yes definitely he will give prizes like a pizza party and treats to students. All we need are students who are interested in it.”
Being carbon neutral is very important and if we want Blaine to stay open, we need to start helping the environment. Kids can receive a certificate.
