There are so many pros to joining this class, while it is a roller coaster- you’ll want to get back on after.
Journalism 2024-2025 was a bit of a crazy year for journalism. Since it was the first class after not having journalism in a few years. From rushing to turn in the yearbook to submitting a last-minute article, the word ‘fast’ made a constant stand. Overall class always came with so much fun. Collaborating over creativity and sense of voice really brought the class together creating a tight bound community.
One thing we get to do in Journalism is we do yearbook! The book of memories of some of our most nostalgic and growing years is in the hands of journalism. Being able to include pictures of you and your friends, choosing superlatives, and deciding things as tiny as what font to use is such an honor. Many say their favorite part of journalism is the yearbook, so if you are into graphic design or taking photos then this is for you!
Another thing we do is we’re the voice of the school! Got an opinion? Write about it on the Paw Press! Want to look at logistics of surveys? We do that! There is so much more we also do like shout out box, the pawdcast, going off campus for research, 8th grade graduation slide show, etc. Journalism is such a big role when it comes to holding the school together and keeping the community thriving.
So, if you didn’t already get the memo, then journalism is so fun! Join journalism if you’re looking for a creative, leading role in our school. We are so excited to see you if you join next year!
