Hi.  My name is Claire.  I have been a student at Catharine Blaine for 3 years.  My favorite part of being a Blaine Tiger is how welcoming and inviting the community is.  When I first came to this school, a classmate that I knew from the neighborhood invited me to sit with her for lunch.  I felt welcomed and it made my first days here much easier. I am a unique, creative person.  I love to draw and do all sorts of art & crafts.  In journalism, I like writing.  This means I oversee incorporating fun and exciting graphics into the articles and stories we publish. I am interested in reporting about school news and doing interviews with students.  I think being a good journalist means that you are involved and put your all into the work and go above and beyond, to dive deep into the topic you’re writing about.

Hi, my name is Ella and I’m in 8th grade. An interesting fact about me is my favorite sport is tennis, and I LOVE to read. Something unique about me is that I am part Norwegian and Swedish and that helps me understand things in new ways. I am interested in writing about school events, news, and feature stories. In my opinion, a good journalist is someone who is excited about topics and writes about things that are fun like politics and sports. Something I love about being a Blaine Tiger is that we all help each other no matter what and we are not afraid to speak up for unfair things.
