What is the story of day of the dead?
The story is when you die you go on five-year journey. During that journey a Xoloescuincle goes with you to make sure get to the land of the dead. As the stories go, once a year you can come and visit your living family. That night is 1st-2nd of November. Your family puts up your photo, foods, toys. Anything that makes them think of you, or something you love. They make a trail of Marigolds to lead you to the ofrenda.

A) “Bring it directly to me, there will be a box, you can put it. You need a blue piece of tape or sticky note just a way I can know who it belongs to.”
Q) Why do you think Day of the Dead is important?
A) “I think it’s a beautiful culture, and it like, creates a beautiful way to remember and honor important people in our community. It makes a special opportunity to remember loved ones for kids.”
