This week, I interviewed elementary schoolers with a silly question. My question was “TV shows, or movies?” It may seem odd, but the reason I did this is that you can compare your elementary school self to their opinion. So, here’s what I got.
The first person I interviewed was Cillian. Cillian is in 5th grade; he told me that he enjoys movies much better than TV shows. That’s because he enjoys a long movie with a good story, and he also believes there are more movies than shows. His favorite movies are The Neverending Story, and Back To The Future. Pretty great choices if you ask me.
Next, I asked Alice. She’s in 1st grade, and she prefers movies. That’s because they are longer. Alice’s favorite movie is Snow White, but she loves princess movies.
Then I asked Liam. Liam is in 4th grade. He also prefers movies more than shows. That’s 3 in a row! His favorite movie is Kung Fu Panda, which is a movie I love. Liam prefers movies because he gets to watch them for a long time; he believes that movies can be funnier than shows.
The last person I asked was Isabel; Isabel is in kindergarten. She prefers both! Finally! Somebody who at least likes shows. It was too tough for her to choose so she chose the easiest answer. She really likes the Minecraft movie.
Now that you’ve read all of those answers, I want you to think about what you would’ve answered when you were in elementary school. Movies or TV shows? What do you prefer now? My answer would’ve been TV shows 100%, I still like them more! When I was in elementary school, I absolutely loved many shows, but I think my top 3 were: Animal Mechanicals, Justin Time, and Bo On The Go. I watched way more shows than that, but those are the ones I remember being special. I really miss watching them.
What were your favorite things to watch?
