Each week Ms. Kang-Crosby chooses a second-grade student to be the student of the week. The student of the week gets special privileges. This week we asked Ms. Kang-Crosby what second grade student was the best this week. The Second-grade student of the week is Harper. Harper is the second-grade student of the week for Ms. Kang-Crosby. Harper won the student of the week because she was good, and Ms. Kang-Crosby chose her to be the student of the week. We found Harper and asked Harper questions about student of the week.
Me “What is your name?”
The student “Harper.”
Me “What grade are you in?”
Harper “Second grade. In Ms. Kang-Crosby’s class.”
Me “How do you feel about being student of the week?”
Harper “I felt good about being student of the week.”
Me “What is something good you did this week?”
Harper “I helped my parents cook food.”
Me “Do you earn tiger tickets as student of the week?”
Harper “No. We do morning work and when Ms. Kang-Crosby sees someone who is focused, she will give them a tiger ticket.”
Me “What do you think about tiger tickets?
Harper “I like them.”
Me “What responsibilities do you get as student of the week?”
Harper “I had to read the morning message, change the calendar, and read the I can message.”
Me “What benefits do you get as student of the week?”
Harper “I got to have my family come in and bring special treats for my class.”
Me “Do you know how many times a person can be student of the week?”
Harper “I think a person can be student of the week once or twice in a year.”
Me “Are you proud for being student of the week?”
Harper “I am proud that I got to be student of the week.”
Now I am going to ask Harper a fun question.
Me “What is your favorite dessert?”
Harper “My favorite dessert is donuts.”
Me “Do you like any particular flavor of donut?”
Harper “No. I like all donut flavors.”
