The incident at Snoqualmie
Have you ever wondered how it would feel to take a long fall or slide down a mountain uncontrollably? Well, in this article we will be talking about one of my classmates Timofey sliding on his side down a mountain while skiing, and how he felt falling and all the details. This is important because it is important to know what is going on around the school, and now here is the inside scoop.
We have Timofey sliding down the mountain during ski bus, and according to Timofey when he was falling down the mountain he felt “happy and I had an adrenaline rush”. This comes as a surprise to most people (including me) because he was falling down a mountain and he felt happy, not being scared or anything. Timofey also stated that “I felt relieved that I did not die although I was covered in snow.” Timofey also stated that “I had a bloody nose after the fall, and I lost both my ski poles.”
Timofey how did you feel after the fall? Do you want to keep skiing after what happened? And Timofey responded with “I love skiing even though I had that bad experience. I want to keep skiing”. So even though he fell he wants to keep getting better at skiing. After Timofey stopped falling, and when he got up, he noticed that he only had a bloody nose which was a relief to him because he could’ve gotten very injured from the fall of the steep mountain.
I asked Timofey when this happened and he said “this happened during the first ski bus and I didn’t have anybody to help me up because I didn’t have a partner for ski bus, and what happened was a really nice snowboarder got my poles that were higher up the mountain and came down and helped me up”. I asked Timofey how he fell down and he told me that “I was skiing then I lost my balance, so I fell on my side and started sliding down the mountain.
On this topic about falling during skiing, I interviewed Asher about how to keep your balance while skiing and be able to turn and not fall and Asher states that while you’re turning you want to keep your weight downhill and turn with your uphill ski”. This helps you have sharper turns and stay on your skis. We also have an opinion from another expert skier, Mr. Geoff. Mr. Geoff states that “you want to keep your feet a little less than shoulder width apart and your knees bent. You also want your back straight not leaning forward or backward but straight and not turning with your whole body like Asher said your top ski.
After falling down the mountain Timofey still likes to ski even after the fall, he still likes to ski a lot. “Hey Timofey has anything about skiing changed for you after you fell”? “No not really, I am just more cautious skiing down the mountain, so I don’t fall again.” Well, it looks like Timofey isn’t scarred for life or anything; he just is more cautious skiing down the mountain.
