What Do Blaine’s Varsity Soccer Players Have To Say About Their Perfect Season?

The Blaine Varsity Soccer Team achieved a perfect season last weekend with their win over TOPS. The team also secured its first clean sheet after winning six to zero. The team’s final goal count came to 26, with Ben H. scoring the majority. Defensively, the Tigers only conceded five goals for a total goal difference of 21. But what do the players think?

When asked about their individual performance, most players felt positive. However, many also had some things that they wanted to improve on. Liam and Jonny both regret their shooting accuracy and “want to improve.”

Micha said, “I want to improve on crossing the ball and finding open players.”

Defensively, Caden had goals for, “better communication.”

Coach Self was happy with the team’s performance this season. He is excited for the finals and thinks the playoffs will be the season’s biggest challenge.

Many players are excited for the finals. A successful playoff run this weekend for Blaine would win the school the boys and girls soccer titles. The team’s first game is against Broadview. A win would put the team into the finals where they would most likely face Hazel Wolf.

Be sure to cheer on the Tigers this weekend at Memorial Stadium!
