The M’s could not repeat the same success the next day as they lost 6-5, scoring all five runs in the second inning. To cap off the series, Mariners Starting Pitcher George Kirby posted a shutout on the scoreboard until the 8th, which was the only run scored in a defensive battle ending in a 1-0 loss to the Phillies to lose the road series Thursday.
